Jutting out into the Adriatic Sea, just a few miles from Trieste, Miramare Castle emanates grandeur. With tall white towers, surrounded by lush parkland grounds, it's impossible not to imagine yourself living in such a luxurious location.
Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg built Miramare Castle for himself in the mid-19th century. Old Max is long gone, but his paradisaical cliffside mansion lives on for you to explore.
Your Miramare Castle tickets include access to the historical museum, as well as the beautiful Miramare Park and stables. Wander the halls of this opulent royal mansion, which retains its original furnishings. Then, bask among exotic trees in the park, many of which have roots in Maximilian's travels around the world. There's even a miniature 'castelletto', which Maximilian and his wife lived in while their fancy dream home was built!
