About this experience
The Casa de Mateus Foundation is an important part of Portugal’s history and culture, known for its grand Baroque manor house and beautiful gardens. Inside, you can visit the historic chapel, explore a museum filled with art and relics, and see the old cellar that highlights the local winemaking tradition.
The experience includes a guided tour in Portuguese, English, or French, a tasting of three Douro DOP wines, and transport from Porto to Casa de Mateus and back. You will also learn about the work of Nicolau Nasoni, the Italian architect who brought the Baroque style to the region.
